Dr. Daniel Hess is a board-certified Internal Medicine physician with more than 15 years of experience caring for adults across a broad spectrum of health and illness. Throughout his career, he has remained committed to a straightforward principle: exceptional medical care begins with listening carefully, communicating clearly, and treating every patient as an individual.

Dr. Hess completed his Internal Medicine residency at the University of South Carolina/Palmetto Health, where he served as Chief Resident. Since completing his training in 2010, he has spent much of his career as a hospitalist, caring for patients with both acute illness and complex chronic medical conditions. His experience extends beyond hospital medicine to include weight management, hospice and end-of-life care, quality improvement, and physician leadership.

Building meaningful relationships with patients has always been central to his approach. Dr. Hess has received repeated national recognition for patient satisfaction through Press Ganey, including recognition among the top 1% of physicians in the nation. He believes that clinical expertise matters most when it is paired with trust, communication, and a genuine understanding of the person behind the medical record.

Dr. Hess is certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine and the American Board of Obesity Medicine. He also earned a Master of Business Administration with a concentration in Medical Management from the University of Massachusetts Amherst's Isenberg School of Management. His background in clinical medicine, physician leadership, and healthcare management gives him a broad perspective on how thoughtful, patient-centered healthcare can be delivered.

As founder of Lowcountry Primary Care, Dr. Hess brings that experience to a practice built around the kind of relationship he values most in medicine, one in which patients feel known, have time to ask questions, understand their options, and have a trusted medical professional helping them navigate their health over time.

At the heart of Beth Sanders' approach to healthcare is a simple belief: every patient deserves to feel heard, respected, and genuinely cared for. As a board-certified Family Nurse Practitioner, Beth is passionate about providing personalized, relationship-based care that focuses on the whole person, not just a list of symptoms.

Beth believes that great healthcare begins with listening. She takes the time to understand each patient's concerns, goals, and lifestyle, then works alongside them to create a thoughtful and practical plan for their health. Her approach combines evidence-based medicine with education, prevention, and a strong emphasis on the patient-provider relationship.

Beth brings more than a decade of experience across a broad range of healthcare settings, including primary care, emergency medicine, health and wellness, medical-surgical and step-down care, oncology, hospice, women's health, and pain management. This diverse clinical background gives her a well-rounded perspective when caring for both everyday health concerns and more complex, long-term conditions.

She has a particular interest in preventive medicine, chronic disease management, women's health, and helping patients make meaningful, sustainable improvements in their overall health and well-being.

Beth earned her Associate Degree in Nursing from Midlands Technical College and her Bachelor of Science in Nursing with Honors from Grand Canyon University. She later earned her Master of Science in Nursing and Family Nurse Practitioner degree with Honors from Spring Arbor University. She is board certified by the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC).

At Lowcountry Primary Care, Beth is especially excited to practice medicine the way she believes it should be practiced, with time to listen, time to educate, and time to build lasting relationships with her patients. Her goal is to create an environment where patients never feel rushed and always feel comfortable asking questions and participating in decisions about their care.
